Is there a minimum wait time required to know an abortion is safe?
Some people have asked if they need to wait a minimum number of days or weeks before seeking an abortion with us, or may have been told there is a need to wait by another provider. carafem clinicians provide careful medical screening before providing care, and have found initiating early treatment while including appropriate follow-up actually provides better results than needlessly delaying care.
Take a pregnancy test. Follow instructions carefully.
If you think you might be pregnant, you should first take a pregnancy test. For the most accurate results, your best bet will be to take the test early in the morning one week after your first missed period.
