To kick it off, welcome to our metro Washington, DC location! We opened our very first health care center in Chevy Chase, Maryland (just outside Washington, DC) in April 2015.
Our metro DC office is located in the Village of Friendship Heights, which straddles the border of Washington DC and Chevy Chase, Maryland. We are close to the Redline metro train and have plenty of private parking. The Friendship Heights center, which is in a beautiful neighborhood full of shopping and restaurants, is located in a multistory medical plaza, which allows for greater privacy than stand-alone medical offices.

Say hello to our reception area! Our friendly staff will welcome you to our office with one-on-one attention to your needs. You won’t be here for long as there’s virtually no waiting — appointments typically start within 5 minutes of your arrival.
Let’s head down the hall and check out one of our private offices. Much of the testing and preliminary work is carried out in one room as our staff comes to you. This way you aren’t getting moved from place to place within the clinic and can focus on staying relaxed, listening, and asking questions.
Here, in a small, private consult room, is where you’ll speak one-on-one with someone from our friendly team. Notice there is not a lot of medical equipment sitting out to distract from your visit. We only bring out the supplies we need for you personally so our rooms are quiet, clean and uncluttered to help you to focus on the information you need.
Our health centers are designed with all of our client’s senses in mind. Seriously, check out that view! Many of our clients enjoy a cup of herbal tea or juice while learning about their health care options in these private and relaxed settings.
We’ve worked to eliminate some of the clinical sights, sounds, and smells of a traditional doctor’s office so you feel comfortable and at ease during your visit. Floor-to-ceiling wooden cabinets keep medical equipment tucked away and out of sight during your appointment.
From aromatherapy to calm nerves to upbeat music, we create a comforting but professional vibe. Our clinicians are experts in reproductive health care and will be sure to provide you with accurate, non-biased information. No matter the reason for your visit, from seeking a new method of birth control to abortion care, you will feel respected and well-informed.
We know how much your voice matters as your words can provide support, comfort, and peace of mind to others who come after you – which is why client feedback is one of our favorite ways to share the carafem experience. At carafem, clients are asked to privately share feedback so our carafem team can continue to improve our service.
